Space Talk and Rocketry Session at National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM)

We were down in Gombak today and took part in a CSR event organised by the University of Newcastle (Australia) Alumni Malaysia Chapter. The objective of the event was to bring some joy to the kids and parents there. Miss Charlene Anita gave a presentation about nutrition followed by David Wu, who shared his experience on his journey cycling solo to China. I gave a talk about our space programme followed by a quick workshop for the kids on how to build rockets. We launched one rocket into space to the delight of everyone that attended the event. There was also a magic show after. Thank you NASOM and UON Alumni Malaysia Chapter for having us and we're glad everyone had fun!!!

Kejohanan Roket Kebangsaan 2016

On the 30th of August 2016, ANGKASA organised the national rocketry competition. For the second year running, we continued to train schoolchildren in using solid fuel to launch their rockets. MRSM Tun Dr. Ismail, Pontian, Johor emerged as champions from 19 teams that competed in the solid fuel category. The event was officiated by YB. Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau. We would like to take this opportunity to thank ANGKASA, UM and Planetarium Negara for their continued support in driving interest for kids in rocketry. A special shout out to our AstroX team members and mentors for their dedication in organising this fantastic event. Most importantly everyone had fun at launching their rockets and kudos to all until next year... pics courtesy of Planetarium Negara.
